I can’t believe its all over. The past year has consisted of wedding and honeymoon planning and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. Its stressful, annoying and at times a real burden. But, its also the most fun I’ve ever had.
It was everything I imagined and more. It was really important to me that it remained intimate, personal and true to who Coye and I are as a couple. All of our closest friends and family were there. We had one of our really good friends perform the ceremony and had the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen made by my now mother in law.
There was lots of laughing, a few tears and probably a little too much dancing.
Coye and I sat in bed the next morning, wedding cake in front of us, forks in hand, recapping everything that had happened the night before, completely overwhelmed with how perfect it was and how much fun everyone had. We never wanted a “stuffy wedding” we didn’t want everyone sitting at assigned seats, eating a meal they didn’t enjoy and waiting for the appropriate time to leave.
We had finger food, our favourite DJ and an amazing photographer (as you can see) and it was everything we wanted it to be.
My advice? If you’re planning your wedding, remember that its YOUR day, nobody else’s. It so easy to get caught up in everyone’s opinion and lose track of what it is that you wanted the day to be. If you want a huge wedding and a formal dinner, do it. If you want something small with tapas and dancing , do that. Its up to you and your partner and nobody else.
And most importantly, have fun! Its over so quickly, enjoy it!
Huge thank you to Alex Masters who, as always, did an amazing job with the photos. I couldn’t be happier with them and would without a doubt recommend him to anyone!
